Poverty Hill Wines is a boutique producer of premium wines from the Eden Valley. Our vineyards are predominately estate grown and dry grown to produce single varietal wines. Our wines are exceptional examples of regional and varietal definitions which contribute to create complex wines with an abundance of personality. 

The name derives from a windswept, stone inhabited hill on one of our partner’s properties barren of any grass or such. It was the best we could come up with at the time and we think it is a name that is hard to forget!

Our winery began as a venture of four friends who joined together in 2002, each with decades of experience in the wine industry. We had a simple aim: to produce wines that were impeccable representations of the Eden Valley region.

Our efforts have been rewarded with James Halliday referring to the quality of our wines as "quite simply –outstanding."
